Hi, welcome to Spinpasta Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the User:Misoka the Witch page.
Don't forget to read the Site Rules carefully, as violations of these rules will result in your account being blocked.
If you need assistance in spelling/grammar, see Spinpasta's Guide to Writing. It will be able to assist you.
We do not accept original stories that are not "Lost Episodes", Theories, Mario, Sonic, Zelda, My Little Pony or Minecraft pastas. No Exceptions. For further information on acceptable original stories, see the Creepypasta Wiki's Blacklisted Subjects.
I just realized that my story, Walk of Delirium and Derangement: A Bloody Road, has been deleted.
I'm fine with this, I just want to know why exactly you thought it was terrible. I'd appreciate the criticism.
Hail, Billy Mays Here
So I was thinking I could start by looking over some pastas tagged for deletion to start? Also, I guess if you decide to admin me and people ask why... I'll just say I was an admin on CPW for a while. And a VCROC for like... a long time. I just know my way around stuff.
Basically, tell me what needs to be done and I'll get to it. c: A never-ending chain of events intertwined by sentences... A picture is worth a thousand words, but only a thousand words will be a story. (talk) 23:12, August 25, 2016 (UTC)
I've deleted all the stories in the deletenow template. There are only two left in Marked for Review, which I will read over, but I'm not sure about what to do for Deletion Appeal. I think we should just archive it, but I dunno how to do that. >.< People always archived my page for me in CPW, lol. A never-ending chain of events intertwined by sentences... Doing some posting here!
Hey, Banning here from your sister site, Creepypasta Wiki! I figured I'd drop you a quick line since I plan to start doing a bit of posting here. I am close to completing a sequel to my contest winning Jeff the Killer 2015, and intend to post in here. It'll likely be a short series with about 3 installments.
Yeah, I'd be happy to help you out! I think that Spinpasta serves an important role in the genre, and I certainly wouldn't want to see it lose too many stories. I'll be happy to take on some additional duties here and clean out some of the junk and maybe make some valuable edits on the stories that can be salvaged. Depending on how well received my latest Jeff the Killer story goes (Mr. Creepypasta is going to read it in October) we might be able to drum up some more activity on here.
Either way, I'll try and promote this site as much as I can and see if we can't get some blood pumping again.
Thanks for the promotion!
Hey, I'm off work on Monday and Tuesday, so I'll set aside some time to start digging through the stories. If you need to discuss anything at greater length, feel free to email me at: email@example.com.
Thanks for the heads up
Sorry about that. Still figuring things out around here.
Sometimes you gotta purge it!
I see what you mean. I've been going through a lot of these stories and honestly it's hard to tell where to start. Perhaps a revision of Spinpasta is in order, with a stronger focus on QS. I'll be more than happy to provide what assistance I can with this. Just let me know what you need.
Wise words from Dupin
I actually dig what Dupin said there. I've always believed that the mission statement of Creepypasta Wiki was to be the premier location for horror stories, and I certainly feel that Spin deserves the same level of expectation, just applied more to spin-offs than traditional Creepypastas. I think it's important that we promote ourselves here as a place where writers can stretch their imaginations a bit more with fewer limitations than on CP Wiki, yet we can still enforce a standard of quality.
I think most of the QS can be borrowed from Creepypasta Wiki as far as grammar and structure goes, as those are fairly universal rules of writing. Where we'll need to set up our own rules will be in how Spinoffs are constructed, what constitutes a proper spin off and what tropes would still fall into the blacklisted realm.
If we can form a concrete partnership with the rest of the Admins on Creepypasta Wiki, it would stand to reason that Spinpasta should become the place where those appeals from CP Wiki land. Let me know your thoughts in greater depth.
I got your notification about how you're making the Quality Standards a little stricter. I'm not sure if deleting all pastas that don't have the Suggested Reading, PoTM, and/or Classics categories is a good idea.
If you go through with that idea, most stories that actually meet the new Quality Standards will be deleted for no reason.
Your notification said that readers can use Deletion Appeal if their story meets the new standards, but I don't think that's a good idea either.
You and the other admins here will be forced to restore several good spin-offs while having to deal with a bunch of upset writers.
Also, the Creepypasta Wiki has thousands of pastas that are not in the Suggested Reading, PoTM, and/or Classics categories, but meet the Quality Standards anyway.
Instead, I have an idea that you and the other admins could simply review all of the pastas on this wiki and decide if it meets the new standards or not. It will take longer, but you won't have to delete hundreds of pastas on here, and you won't have to restore the good ones at the authors' request.
Thank you for listening.
So I originally responded to the notification that I got about the Purge. After doing some digging into what you are expecting I have a few more concerns.
First - It seems like you want high quality stories "that are exceptional" (as put by Mr. Dupin). I can understand wanting more quality stories but there are a few things wrong with this logic. If they are exceptional enough, they should be allowed on the Creepypasta Wiki, in which case there is no need to have them on this site.
Second - The way you are going about it is completely wrong. You have taken a stance to get rid of 93% of the current stories in favor of wanting "higher quality". The thing is, compared to the Creepypasta Wiki, you don't even have 10% as many stories as them. I could see this being a thing if you had 2,000 stories and were getting rid of even 500 of them, but there are only 670 stories and this purge gets rid of about 620 of them. There really isn't any reason that somone couldn't take some, albeit large amount of, time and purge just the stories that don't meet quality standards.
Finally - It seems like you are doing what you did last year when you decided to purge the suggested reading category. Instead of posting the new quality standards and enforcing them from that point, you decided to wipe the slate clean, put down new laws, then go from there. I would not be surprised if this kills this wiki. Taking out a majority of the stories would not be a good idea. I know for certain that if I had any stories here and I saw this, I would opt to start my own wiki before attempting to beg for my story to be hosted again.
This wiki is a good place for people to flex creatively and post stories that might not have all the polish. There are plenty of stories (even in the three categories) that could be improved, but that doesn't make the wiki bad. In fact I feel like you should embrace that you have sequel stories that may not be the best, but can be a more creative place for writers.
I would be happy to discuss this topic further as I dont understand what is compelling you to make this leap in logic. I truely want to understand why you would do this. Thank you.
I appologize if my last post upset you. The tone seems to be combattive and if my tone was that way to you I appologize for that as well. When I stated that an exceptional pasta doesn't need to be here though, it was not intended to be bullshit. My question was that if you are going to hold this place to the higher standards of the CP Wiki, why not just encorporate it into that wiki. I understand if thats not feasible, especially given that you don't run that wiki but do run this one.
Additionally, with regards to the QS, I simply meant that maybe post the new rules prior to the purge. Having those rules for more than 48 hours would give people who care enough to check their stuff to have a chance to improve it prior to the purge, possibly adding a temporary category "New/Working" that would also be exempt from the purge. If people abuse that you can just purge it anyway.
Again I appologize if anything I said offended you in any way. I know that it must be hard to run this wiki and be on the CP wiki as well. I hope some of my thoughts are helpful. Again, I would be glad to discuss this further.
Thank you for adding the NoPurge category. If you're not busy, may I ask if you could review my story and see if it can be on that category?
Here's a link. Thank you.
Ok, hi, sorry, I don't know what the hell I did wrong with my Creepypasta, but could you at the very least send it back at me by email or something? The thing is, I put effort in it, and also, I did fix all the errors to make sure it improved. SO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, atleast tell me I didn't lose all my work so I can AT THE VERY LEAST post it on another site. Please. Clearly I can't post stuff in ANY Creepypasta wiki, the rules are a little too complicated, I don't know if its because I'm an idiot, I don't know if because I am just unlucky, just please, tell me my story is not lost forever. Thank you so much for placing my pasta in the NoPurge category! I'm glad it met the new Quality Standards.
Probably noticed I've leant a hand in the meantime and will try to work my way up the categories when I have some time. I can't promise I'll be extremely active, but I am hoping to start reviewing a category a day in the meantime. I just had a quick question, do you only want me to tag stories for deletion and leave the rest to you, Xel, or another admin for review or is there some other way I can clear stories that are up to QS without adding any admin-cats or violating any rules here? EmpyrealInvective (talk) 00:52, September 28, 2017 (UTC)
- Will probably start at the bottom category and work my way up, marking stories that need deletion or review (M4R) with Zelda. EmpyrealInvective (talk) 03:30, September 28, 2017 (UTC)
I'd like my story Jeff the Killer Redux to be added to the NoPurge category in order to survive the coming storm. Thanks!
What if Jesus Christ and Chris Christie mated? You'd get Jesus Christie
Hey. I figure that this would be the most promising way to get a hold of you. I do have a question about that one album that you made in 2014 or around that time. I was wondering what was the site that you uploaded your album on? I'm going to be releasing a joke EP soon and I may use that once I learn how to put tracks in order.
Since apparently there is a purge going on here soon, I figure that you could review and see if my story is worth staying on the site. I know that the purge won't happen for a while, so it's not really important as of now. If it stays, it stays. If it gets deleted, just send me a pastebin of it. Also, thank you for making this talk page post from me the first edit in two years on this site. lol. If you want to, get on Facebook just so that we can catch up on things. 02:06, October 2, 2017 (UTC)
- Okay. Thank you, btw. Forget about the pastebin link. I just remembered that if it isn't saved by the purge, let me know before the purge begins and then I can put it on my sandbox wiki. 17:46, October 2, 2017 (UTC)
New Jeff story posted
Just wanted to seek some feedback on my latest entry in the ongoing Jeff series that I'm writing.
I've gone ahead and protected it, but if you'd like to add the suggested reading category that would be greatly appreciated.
Speaking of templates, I can't find the Marked for Review template. Do you know where that is? Is it just not there?
I wouldn't mind at all if I gained those rights.
Question about Glut of Incorrectly M4R Stories
If I encounter an article which is Marked for Review and I don't think it should be, do I have the authority to take off that category?
What about if I know that the poster themselves marked it as Marked for Review?
The blacklist header doesn't mention the Pokepasta Wiki and I don't know how to edit the header. Should that wiki be added there, and if so, can you add it?
Changing Color of Overhead Tabs
You know how the "Talk Page" and "Profile" tabs for an RCaDC are yellow and how a bureaucrat's are pink? Is there any way to manually do that?
(I'm asking because User:CrinosWolf500 wanted to know and I couldn't tell him. As you can see by how temporally drawn-out this whole chain of events was, I have trouble telling people things. I also can't tell very good jokes, because the previous sentence could sound funny, but I don't know how. And so could that sentence. And so on.)
- Hey, thanks for stepping in and letting me know about that, I appreciate it. I might give this a go on my friend's wikia. "We're werewolves, not swearwolves." 18:27, August 3, 2018 (UTC)
