What I mean by this is that a permanent blacklist of humor articles. Meaning that the category, the rules, and the Humor Appeal gets deleted from the site. No one cannot appeal their stories in the blacklist appeal. And other stories other than The Crap in the Sack and "Gaga" are not to allowed to be on the site. If they are uploaded on here, they will be classified as spam, and the user who posted a humor article will be rewarded with a three day block for uploading the article on the site (since that is the rule for uploading a spam article/Trollpasta on the site).

The reason why they should be blacklisted completely is because they make the site lack in its quality. Sure most of them have good spelling and grammar, but that doesn't make up for their quality. Most of the stories, other than the one's I mentioned, are not par to the Quality Standards. And these were stories that were allowed by the administration here during the first year of the site's creation. That's the reason why I decided to make this proposal here. There is also the Trollpasta wiki where users can post their articles there.

Sure, the humor appeal isn't used and no one has posted a humor article since... god knows long. But why have these articles when their quality is low, and have rules/an appeal for a trollpasta that has good grammar?

    • Oppose Oppose - It isn't needed, since hardly anyone posts Humor Articles. Either way, that may not mean they aren't going to. Plus, trollpasta: mockery of a creepypasta. Humor Article: Article meant more for humor, but not necessarily a troll. In fact, I'd go as far to say that the humor articles that were deleted were of well enough quality but wouldn't be considered actually funny as far as Trollpasta is concerned. (Also, Humor Articles are subject to almost all of the QS. Not just grammar.)

Also, do we really need another blacklist? We aren't CP. We only need to blacklist things that are uploaded constantly and are of bad quality, or are just so utterly numerous it overwhelms and overshadows other pastas.

This is silly. This wiki shouldn't be taken quite as seriously as CP. Not as much as Trollpasta, but not taken so seriously that it literally ends up as CPW 2.0.

Also, our traffic is going down as is. I've honestly been thinking on relinquishing a couple of blacklisted subjects, and here we go trying to blacklist more.' It's not necessary.

Also, they don't have half the effect you claim they have. They're not numerous. They make up maybe .1% of the wiki.

So basically, lighten up a little. There are other things I could go into (the fact that you want to classify them as spam is ridiculous for a half a dozen reasons) but that's all for now.

Well, yeah. But most of the category is not really... qualitative. Sure, it's possibly the tiniest percent on the wiki. Sure, it's not CPW. Sure, no one posts them anymore. Sure, we shouldn't become the next CPW. But as for quality of the articles? Look through the category and read the stories individually. There are like a good 2 (maybe 3) articles in that category that are good. But that doesn't mean that we should keep these stories be on here because our traffic is going down. It's like saying that we should've kept Sonic.exe articles unbanned because people liked posting them.

Also, Trollpasta's can be considered as a mockery of Creepypasta's like what you said. But it's not the sole definition over there anymore, or anywhere at all. They can be serious articles written with humor/satire, or have the same elements as what the articles in the category are made for. Why, a Trollpasta can be considered as The Legendary Brawl series or the other Ultimate article that is in the category. Most of the stories in the category can be classified as a trollpasta, or at least a very shitty article that's not par with the QS (again, the sole purpose of a trollpasta). Go have a read on some of them for yourself and see that you don't want to delete them for quality reasons.

Yes, we don't need to become the next CPW. But we don't need shit on the site, especially if it's that little .1%. I'd rather have 0% shit on this site, and have users be happy reading stories that are qualitative on a literature site. Not become where we were before I had blacklisted the Jeff-Inspired articles because they weren't qualitative, and that we were becoming the second Fanfiction.net with users posting them. I do want them to be happy too, but I just don't want this site to be Fanfiction2.net. More like the same quality like CPW has, but with less restriction in its standards.

Blocking them for spam is kind of silly in your case, which I do agree. But most of them are trollpasta's, or at least not that good. That's the reason I labelled them as spam, as trollpasta's are already considered spam. If they do get blacklisted (which possibly they're not by your case but by the communities), a warning would be issued not to do it again.

If they do not get blacklisted, I think that they should have both, humor and quality. Not just a slap on the butt for good grammar and humor, and that it tells a great story.

Going off topic, if we're going to relinquish the blacklist stuff, I would go for the MLP articles. The Jeff-Inspired articles were the stuff that made it feel like the next Fanfiction.net, so that's not really a no-go on those stories. SCP... they should stay the same to where they are. Sonic.exe stories should automatically be blacklisted, unless if one can write a great one.

Yeah, and some of the good ones were deleted. I've had plans for some of them (I've thought about asking Mike if I could take over "The Nicotine Crew".) that I would still like to put into effect.

Don't get me wrong when I say our traffic is going down. I want quality, but I'd prefer not to see the wiki abandoned because we strickened our rules too quickly without the population to make up for it.

What you're basically saying is that a few that we have left are shit. And? A large majority of what's here isn't exactly good. Should we blacklist everything because there are a number of articles not on par with the QS? No, we should clean it up, maintain it, and start back over.

That .1% makes very little difference. I've never seen a user scream "ZOMG I found a humor article! Spinpasta officially sucks because of that!" Mainly, because that's silly.

Our quality is slowly going uphill as it is. Don't rush it by negating the small bit of funny stuff that users post now and then. Frankly, we aren't CPW. We're a completely different wiki that is part of the same network. We do things slightly differently, and humor articles are apart of that difference.

And again, they're subject to all of the QS. Let's do some housekeeping and see where we can go before we jump into a full on blacklist.

The MLP articles were what I was planning on Unblacklisting.

Okay. That is something that I can agree on. A cleanup on the category and see where things go from here. Mind if I do the stuff that's needed to be doing, like unblacklisting the MLP articles, cleaning the stories up, and close the thread?
