Well, pretty much I decided that I want to remove the category. Since it's not a depreciated category, like Death or Shock Ending, but I feel like that it is an unneeded category.

My reasoning for removing this category is that we have templates that indicate who wrote the article, such as {{by-user}}, {{by}}, and {{cred}}. I'll give you the meaning of each template, but all of them pretty much give credit to the author.

By-user: It indicates that a specific person, or you have wrote the article, it highlights the user's name (meaning that you want to be recognized on this wiki), and gives out the CC-By-SA liscence. It's pretty handy for authors, because it links their profile page at the bottom (rather than doing ''Written by [[User:Fatal Disease|Fatal Disease]]''

By: It has the same purpose as By-user, except that it has more options. It doesn't have the CC-BY-SA license, but it can give you the specific credit that you need. Let's say that you want to be more known on Deviantart, or a site, you can just do {{by|Fatal Disease|link= *insert link here*}}. Or that you can give yourself, or the user, credit on here by doing {{by|Fatal Disease|user=yes}}. Or just don't do nothing to it at all, just add the name.

Cred: Cred means that the author, or you, wants credit, but only links to the author's Creepypasta profile. It is good for stories that are qualitative that were deleted on Creepypasta.

So, pretty much, due to these templates that give credit to the original author of these stories, I feel that the OC category should be removed from this site. Rather than going and removing this category myself, without say, I feel like I should let the community decide its fate.

    • Support Support - It's totally unneeded as all the work here is user content. I have no idea why my text is underlined btw.

Not all content here were created by users. A great example of this is Candle Cove: Day of the Dead, Sonic, The Vigil, and The Crap in the Sack. These articles were submitted to users on here, mostly admins. But that doesn't mean that they wrote them. The users who uploaded them were helping out by building and strengthening the content of the site.

I thought we couldn't post Slimebeast's work cause of licensing issues, and crap in the sack is his, and also it's a comedy. The pastas not by users can have some sort of special category like preserved or something, idk?

I actually did delete it due to its licensing, but Callie brought it back for this reason: Slimebeast stated he doesn't care how people use his work as long as it isn't for profit. This can be considered permission.

So, yeah. But now this thread is going off track talking about stories, rather than what is being proposed. Let's keep things on track, please.

We can delete the OC category but the non-user pastas should get some protection from editing and a special category for them that only admins can add like 'archived' or something.

    • Isn't anything that would be posted to this site a spin-off of existing content, and therefore not original content anyway?

That was probably the main idea of the site, but, after all, it ended up accepting original stories as well. After all, if someone can't upload an original Mario pasta (kind of difficult) in CPW, it can here.

    • Support Support - Because someone could actually got confused with the OC category, like your pasta being a spinoff of some pasta, but it's your work nonetheless, you're not sure you would add the OC category or not, and in some articles that actually includes OC, but mentions a character that belongs to other person, you're also not sure you're going to add the OC category or not, that's the reason.

Never thought of it that way, but you do have a point.

There's no such thing as an "original Mario pasta." A Mario pasta is a Mario pasta. It features characters and settings from the Mario series. An original pasta is an original pasta. It contains original characters and settings without interference from any existing franchises. The two are quite exclusive.

    • You guys can have original works on here. As long as it's a Mary Sue article/Stu Stue article, or that it's poetry following the AABB format. Other than that, only regular spinoffs and blacklisted articles that are banned/highly criticized on Creepypasta, such as Zelda articles.
