Alright, so here's Rick's idea, and how it will operate.
When a category/story is deemed by an admin to have too many stories of ill quality, they will post it on a certain board in the forum for voting. The support, oppose and neutral templates will be used.
However, before the votes may begin, another admin must second the position in order to confirm that it is not simply a subjective opinion.
There will also be restrictions as to who can vote. You must:
- Be active on the wiki for at least a month.
- Have 100 edits, with 75 on articles.
This will keep the regards of the poll on its quality, rather than give regards to popularity. Basically, those who decide its fate will be at least moderately seasoned editors, who are fully aware of what they're talking about. It will not be judged on how many fanboys it has.
The vote templates will be used like this. Support for a permanent blacklisting, neutral for temporary, and oppose to oppose all together.
Temporary blacklisting will have an amount of time accompanying the reason. And yes, you must leave a legitimate reason as to why it should/shouldn't be blacklisted. Not just because "I like it you fuck-tards!" or "That pasta was good and yours are all crap because x and y reasons that I haven't really got a clue what I'm talking about!"
Sound good enough to you?
